What time of year is it?

You might be forgiven for wondering what season it currently is at Caerlaverock right now. What with brisk easterly winds adding a chill and a motley collection of wildfowl down at Avenue Tower. We have one Barnie, one pink-foot, one grelag and two canadas along with four Golden Plover, a Redshank and the nesting Lapwings. There is also a female Pintail back on Folly Pond. Fortunately the warblers are still in fine voice to remind us that Spring really has sprung!
