Wildlife artist in residence at nature reserve
Meet wildlife artist Desiree Hart, artist in residence at WWT Arundel Wetland Centre during this year’s Arundel Festival. Desiree displays her paintings, illustrations and photography inside the rustic Outlook In building from August 22-26.
Desiree will draw and chat about the trips to Africa that inspire her artwork. “Where possible I draw and paint animals in their natural environment. I consider myself extremely lucky to go on Safari to gather reference material and to see how these magnificent creatures live and survive. It is so important to keep this environment safe for their survival and well being.” says Desiree Hart.
Desiree has worked as a fundraiser for the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust for many years, to raise awareness of the importance of wetlands worldwide to wildlife. “One of my favourite places to visit is Botswana and the Okavango Delta, the world’s largest wetland protected by the Ramsar Treaty.” says Desiree Hart.
Desiree Hart’s work will be displayed from 10:30-5pm daily from August 22-26.
