Many Reed Warbler can be found all around the reserve singing for territories. Sedge warblers are also adding their voices as they pick out reed beds for themselves. Sand Martens fill the skies and swoop low over the water, landing occasionally to collect nesting material. The Sand Marten colony has really made itself at home and they are just a true joy to watch. Yellow Wagtails were spotted late yesterday afternoon so hopefully will still be feeding on the reserve today. Our lovely Chiffchaff and Blackcap, the spring warblers, are singing in summer from the willows, alders and birches. Lovely day at the reserve today.
