Wildlife sightings 8th May 2022

Little ringed plover on the main lake and swifts feeding over the reserve. First dragonflies and damselflies seem to be emerging

Birds:

1 Common Buzzard - over

20+ Swift - passing over the reserve

5 Pochard (M)

5 Gadwall pairs

2 Oyster Catcher (pair) - main lake

7 Lapwing displaying

Reed Warbler, Cetti's Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Chiffchaff and Blackcap singing around the reserve.

Flowering plants: Yellow Flag Iris, Yellow Rattle, Common Bistort, Jack-by-the-hedge, Bugle, Ramsones, Bluebell, Marsh Marigold, Lesser Celandine, Herb Robert, Cuckoo-flower, Ox Eye Daisy, Daisy, Dandelion, Rowan, Hawthorn, Hazel, Wild Cabbage.

Insects: Brimstone, Small White, Peacock, Holly Blue, Migrant Hawker, Blue Tailed Damselfly (Fi violacea), Alder Leaf Beetle, Poplar Leaf Beetle.
