Kingfisher in the reedbeds and wildside flowers opening
Birds:
3 Garganey - reservoir lagoon (one eclipse)
4 Common Tern - main lake
2 Oystercatcher - main lake (one on a tern raft)
2 Shoveller - main lake
1 Redshank - main lake
1 Little Ringed Plover - main lake
1 Little Grebe - main lake
1 Kingfisher - reedbeds
3 Teal - reservoir lagoon
Pochard brood (new) - reservoir lagoon
6 Sedge Warbler territories - scrape, sheltered lagoon, marsh, main lake
New Great Crested Grebe nest on the reservoir lagoon. Great viewing from the bridge near wildside hide.
Reed Warbler (70 singing birds), Cetti's Warbler (23), Reed Bunting (7), Sedge Warbler (4), Chiffchaff (3) and Blackcap (20+) all singing around the reserve.
Flowering plants: Great Burnet, Salad Burnet, Agrimony, Bee Orchid, Southern Marsh Orchid, Pyramidal Orchid, Cut-leaved Crane's-bill, Dove's-foot Crane's-bill, Goat's Beard, Yellow Flag Iris, Yellow Rattle, Bugle, Herb Robert, Ox Eye Daisy, Bramble, Common Vetch, Tufted Vetch, Grass Vetchling, Dog Rose, Elder, Common Mallow, Birds-foot Trefoil, Deptford Pink, Beaked Hawksbeard, Smooth Hawksbeard, Creeping Cinquefoil, Red Campion, White Water Lily, Flowering Rush, Arrowhead, Aster, Knapweed, Greater Knapweed, Yellow Bartsia, Meadow-rue, Purple-Loosestrife, Yellow Loosestrife, Square Stemmed St Johns Wort, Marsh Woundwort, Betony.
