Wildlife sightings for 8th June 2022
4 Common Tern on main lake and reservoir lagoon. 1 Snipe on the marsh and Sedge Warblers with young. 2 Little Ringed Plover

6 Sedge Warbler territories - scrape, sheltered lagoon, marsh, main lake
Reed Warbler (70 singing birds), Cetti's Warbler (23), Reed Bunting (7), Sedge Warbler (4), Chiffchaff (3) and Blackcap (20+) all singing around the reserve.
After spending a few weeks on the reserve the Common Tern pair are now turning on a nest on the large raft in the middle of the reserve. This is a good sign and means the birds are probably sat on eggs. The pair do a lot of fishing on the Sheltered Lagoon. The Garganey have been seen on the 4th, 5th 6th and 7th. Couldn't spot them this morning but they are incredibly secretive birds and can easily camouflage into the foliage of the wetlands.

Butterflies: Brimstone, Small White, Large White, Green-veined White, Orange Tip, Peacock, Comma, Small Tortoiseshell, Holly Blue, Common Blue, Speckled Wood, Painted Lady, Small Heath, Meadow Brown, Red Admiral.
Dragonflies/Damselflies: Four-spotted Chaser, Norfolk Hawker, Broad-Bodied Chaser, Black-Tailed Skimmer, Hairy Dragonfly, Emperor, Common Blue Damselfly, Blue-tailed Damselfly, Azure Damselfly, Banded Demoiselle, Large Red Damselfly.
