Winter Passerine Survey
The last two days have seen us completing the December visit of our Winter Passerine Survey. We have been mapping the small bird activity in our hedgerows as these can sometimes be missed as records in our general ad hoc recording spreadsheet. There has been plenty of Treecreeper activity along with flocks of Long-tailed Tits, Reed Bunting, Yellowhammer, Goldcrest. Not to mention the Robins, Dunnocks, Chaffinches, Greenfinches, Blackbirds, House Sparrows and Tree Sparrows. The fields are once again wetting up and this is drawing in the waders. Good numbers of Lapwing and Curlew in Corner field, Black-tailed Godwit and Redshank on Folly Pond.
