The VisitEngland Awards for Excellence champion the very best of the country’s tourism industry celebrating quality, innovation, best practice and exceptional customer service.

WWT Slimbridge, along with all finalists, attended the national awards ceremony on 7 June at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.

We were the only finalist selected for the awards from Gloucestershire showing that we are leading the way for the county providing excellent access to nature - for all.

Feedback from the awards was outstanding with the marker saying;

WWT Slimbridge is such a fabulous visitor attraction. How many other visitor attractions can you think of where you automatically know that the whole family will have a great day out? Everyone, of all ages and needs will feel included. The South West should be proud to have WWT Slimbridge located in the region!

Winning Silver in the regional awards and now winning Bronze in the national awards is a massive achievement for us and all of our dedicated staff and volunteers.

All of WWT’s wetland centres exist to fulfil founder Sir Peter Scott’s vision of connecting people with nature and they aim for their wetlands and wildlife to be accessible to everyone.

Winning Bronze in the VisitEngland Awards recognises that we provide a truly memorable visitor experience for everyone - particularly those with accessibility requirements, and demonstrates excellence across every aspect of our centre.

A huge well done to all of the other finalists and winners!
