WWT submits Environment Bill proposals
WWT has urged the Government to give legal backing to its promise to leave the environment in a better state for the next generation.
Responding to the Government’s consultation on post-Brexit legal protections, we say a new Bill should contain strong principles, measurable targets, and sanctions if these aren’t met.
We support the establishment of a new environment watchdog to act as guardian for principles and standards, but say the Government’s current proposals for its scope are too weak.
