A good time on site to catch up with Yellow Wagtails and Kingfishers, both are being seen most days from the Ron Barker Hide, with up to 6+ Yellow Wagtails including a cracking adult male seen today along with 4 juveniles. At least 3-4 Kingfishers have been seen in the last week, with 2 today.
Other sightings today include 10 Redshank (this coincides with a major movement in East Lancs today with a flock of 150 at Foulridge reservoir near Burnley), 2 juv Black tailed Godwit, 2 juv Little ringed Plover, 7 Dunlin (ads + juvs), 18+ Ruff, 1 Green Sandpiper and 300+ Lapwing.
A Barn Owl was showing during the morning along with at least 3 Marsh Harrier and a juv Peregrine along with the usual Common Buzzard, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.
