Thierry Rabenandro

Project Coordinator (Madagascar)

About me

Agronomist by training, I worked for two decades for rural development. I started to focus on the protection of natural resources six years ago. My areas of intervention are essentially the protection of watersheds, the development of small livestock farming, the dissemination of agroecology, the management of family farms and reforestation.

I started working with the WWT team in mid-March 2024 as a project coordinator addressing the drivers of wetland degradation in Madagascar and the search for nature-based solutions adapted to the local context.

Before I worked mainly with French NGOs. I wanted to work with WWT to perfect my English and learn another pace of work without wanting to stray from the preservation of the environment which has become a global issue especially for developing countries with few resources.

My role

I am in charge of the coordination and the monitoring of the Following the Water project (lead team meetings; prepare and maintain project management tools). My role is to ensure the proper use of the available budget as well as the quality of deliverables. With the Country Manager, I have to develop partnerships. I am also responsible for ensuring that my team’s security and administrative procedures are respected.
