Bring your little ones to meet the little ones hatching now at Arundel Wetland Centre. Downy Duckling Days runs May 25 through June 2. Children will enjoy hand feeding the wild mallard ducklings that are waddling around the reserve.  The whole family can ‘Search for the Shelduck family’ that staff have hidden around the reserve and enter to win a complete set of WWT pin badges.

Real, wild shelducks are sitting on eggs that will soon hatch near the Ramsar hide on the reserve. “Shelduck ducklings look like fluffy mint humbugs” said Paul Stevens, Grounds Manager of WWT Arundel.  “Families of pochard and tufted ducks have been seen around the reserve as well.”  Other fluffy families onsite include Canada Geese goslings and Hawaiian nene goslings.

Visitors can create a ‘Quacking Craft’ each afternoon. The Pond Dipping station is open and the free Wetland Discovery Boat Safaris run every day of Downy Duckling Days.

WWT Arundel Wetland Centre is open every day from 9:39am - 5:30pm, located on Mill Road, Arundel West Sussex BN9 8PB. All Downy Duckling Days activities are included in your admission price.
