Spring Workshops and Walks for Adults
Whether you want to be an early bird for the Dawn Chorus walk or have a lie-in to go to a Moth Morning, we have events and workshops you may enjoy this spring at Arundel Wetland Centre.
Spring Wreath Workshops
We are trying something new this month with Spring Wreath Workshops on Sat 29 March. We will teach you to we a wreath from will then add natural materials and foliage we have harvest onsite. Then we will make and add decorations, like eggs for and Easter motif!
This workshop is for adults and spaces are limited. We have two times to choose from - book either 10.30 am – 12.30 pm OR 13.30 – 15.30 pm. Workshop cost is £20 per person plus regular admission costs which is free for WWT members.
Evening Bat Walk
We are please to reintroduce our Evening Bat Walks for adults this spring. Join our Reserve Team on Wed 16 April for a guided walk to bat hotspots around the reserve.
Nine species of bats can show up on our monthly bat surveys at Arundel from April – October. During our last bat survey in autumn 2024 we recorded four species: soprano pipistrelles, noctule bats, Daubenton’s bats, and a Leisler’s bat.
This walk is for visitors ages 14 and up only. Our site will close for the day at 4.30 pm then reopen at 7.30 pm fpor the walk that starts promptly at 7.45 pm. Latecomers can not be admitted. This walk is for visitors ages 14 and up only. The walk takes place from dusk then in darkness, this event is not suitable for pushchairs, buggies or young children.
Tickets are £15 per person with online booking only.
Dawn Chorus Walks
Our Dawn Chorus Walks have returned this spring after a few years on hiatus. Experience the delights of exploring the site at sunrise to the sounds of the the dawn chorus at Arundel Wetland Centre on this guided walk around the reserve.
Our Learning Team will led your through the site and help you learn to identify bird song. We expect to see and hear wetland specialists such as reed warblers and Cetti’s warblers, to dawn chorus superstars such as song thrushes, blackcaps and goldcrests.
The doors open at 5:20 am with the walk starting at 5.30 am, late comers will not be admitted as the site is not open until 10 am. The walk finishes at 7.30 am when visitors will have to leave the site. We have to walks scheduled, the first on Sat 26 April and one on Sun 4 May. The walk is £20, and for adults only. Moth Mornings
Our Reserve Team puts out moth traps to as part of regular wildlife survey our site. On Wed 14 May and Wed 11 June we invite you to be on hand when the moths are recorded and released from the traps. Visitors are encouraged to help us moth IDs. All are encouraged to get close for a look and there are many opportunities for photos.
The Moth Mornings begins at 10.00 am and run until 11.30 am. Cost is £15 per person, plus regular admission ticket which is free for WWT Members. Online booking online - these workshop fill up fast!
