Autumnal feel

Early morning temperatures in the low single figures the last few days have signalled that autumn is truly underway. The clear skies have meant that the sun has shone producing good conditions for Migrant and Southern hawker dragonflies and Common darters, all keen to finish their mating and egg laying before the first frosts.
Summer migrants leaving our shores have decreased in number, but still large groups of House martin with occasional Sand martin passing overhead.

Kingfishers still showing really well in the usual places and increasing numbers of Gadwall and Teal with the more elusive Shoveler and Snipe from the hides.

A Little grebe is being seen again on Wetlands discovery and Arun riverlife and two Water rail along the reedbed boardwalk today.
