Beautiful Egrets

The wind has been truely bitter, which has meant alot of birds, like us, are trying to keep out of it as much as possible!
However over the last few days we have been getting a small number of Egrets (5 today), all perched in the lower branches of trees. They can be seen from the Ramsar to the far right.
Also seen from the hides today are; Lapwing, Snipe, Gadwall, Pochard, Shelduck, Cormorant, Teal, Shoveler, Canadian and Greylag geese, Grey heron, Tufted duck, Black headed and Common gulls.
Around the reserve; Bullfinch, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Robins, Blackbirds, Songthrush, Longtailed/ Great/ Blue and Coal tits, Nuthatch, Dunnock, Reed bunting, Cetti's warbler, Wren, Black cap, Wood pigeon, Pheasants, Magpies, Crows, Jackdaws, Rooks, Water railCoot, Moorhen, Mute swans, Mallards and ducklings.
And last but by no means least a lovely water vole beside the entrance pools to the reed bed.
