Beautiful Kites!

With the exception of high winds, the reserve is bathed in glorious sunshine and we were treated to 4 Red Kites flying low over the reserve this morning.
The woodland lodge and stag beetle feed areas were busy this morning. Blue tits, Great tits, Longtailed tits, Greenfinch, Nuthatch, Dunnock, Collared dove, Great spotted woodpecker, Robin, Chaffinch and a stunning pair of Jays were also seen.
Kingfishers are showing well from the Scrape and Ramsar hides today, keeping to the edges out of the wind.
Good numbers of Tufted duck, Pochard, Common Shelduck, Gadwall, Teal, Canadian and Greylag geese and the Bar headed goose is back.
