Bittern

After not seeing a Bittern for a week, Mike Dilger spotted one late yesterday afternoon.
We had just arrived at the Scrape hide and the bird took off from the far back  edge, where visitors had been spotted it previously. The bird flew across the reed bed to the right and then landed again out of view, stunning!
It was extremely cold yesterday evening but we stayed out long enough to see the first 7 Bewick's swans come in, with many (70+) Canadian geese, 19 Grey lag geese and 1 Egyptian and 1 Bar headed goose had also joined this flock!
