Bittern at dusk.

Whilst watching the 100 or so Pied wagtails coming into roost in the reedbed at 16.15 last night, a Bittern flew up from the back of the lost reedbed (Scrape hide), landing amongst the wagtail roost in the centre of the main reedbed from the reedbed hide.

Great views of the Kingfisher from the gallery centre building for the last two days and many sightings around the reserve. At least two birds on site at anyone time!

This morning good views of several Lesser Redpoll feeding on seed heads along the tranquil trail, in-between the Ramsar and Lapwing hides.

Good numbers of Water rails calling from most of the suitable habitats around the reserve with several showing on Wetlands discovery, the reedbed hide and the reedbed boardwalk. Still some Water voles showing in the reedbed as well.
