Beautiful birds of prey
Paul and I were spoilt on our walk around and count today, seeing Red Kites, Buzzards, Sparrow hawk, Kestrel and Peregrines. All displaying beautifully across the reserve. LAPWING HIDE: 11 Greylag geese and goslings, 3 Shelduck, 4 Lapwing and chick. RAMSA

Lovely Lapwing
The best place to see the Lapwing are from the Ramsar & Sand martin hides and of course, the Lapwing hide. If you look carefully you may also see the chicks that hatched this week. The Glossy Ibis was also showing well from this hide yesterday and com

Cuckoo!
For 2 days now, the cuckoo has been calling from the back of the Reed bed, but as yet we have not spotted the elusive bird! I have also seen our first 2 Lapwing chicks today, she is guarding them well so you will definitely need your binoculars. On Tuesda

Cuckoo and Redshank

Warmer weather?
Apologies for the lack of updates, lets catch you up! So we have seen our first migrants coming through; Sand Martins, Swallows, Swifts and House Martins. The milder temperatures have meant the insects are finally appearing and that their is a food source

Sedge warblers at last

Sand Martins and Swallows
