Cuckoo and Redshank

Lovely warm start to the day and our first Cuckoo calling on the reserve. A Redshank was also spotted feeding from the Sand martin hide, hopefully one that may stay and nest here?

Six Lapwings are now sitting on eggs from the Ramsar and Lapwing hides.

First Orangetip of the year on the reserve and a small group of Grass Snakes out catching some warm sunshine.

Water voles continue to be very approachable and a record of a youngster a few days ago was a positive sign that spring truly is underway.
