Easter weekend
I am putting this on late Friday evening, but the birds listed have been seen throughout the week, so happy Easter and have fun spotting these fabulous species!
LAPWING HIDE; Lapwing, Gadwall, Teal, Canadian geese, Common Shelduck.
RAMSAR & SAND MARTIN HIDES; Cormorants, Lapwing, a pair of Oystercatchers, Greylag, Canadian & Egyptian geese, Gadwall, Common Shelduck, Teal, Snipe, Kingfisher, Black headed, Herring, Common and Lesser black backed gulls, Mallard, Coot, Moorhen.
Great Crested Grebe has been showing well every day from the Ramsar hide.
SCRAPE HIDE; Snipe, Teal, Common Shelduck, Gadwall.
SWAN LAKE/ARUN RIVER LIFE; Redshank, Teal, Oystercatchers, Grey heron.
RESERVE; Water rail, Water vole, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Wren, Nuthatch, Dunnock, Robin,
several nesting Long tailed tits, Red kite, Buzzard, Reed bunting, Song thrush, Blue & Great tit, Collared doves, Pheasants, Green finch, Jackdaws, Rooks, Pied & Grey wagtails, Little Grebe, Tufted duck, Pochard and lots of mallards & ducklings!
