Frogs croaking

The last thing I expected to here yesterday was a male Common Frog croaking in the reedbed, especially after all the cold weather of late.

A Jack Snipe was spotted feeding in front of the Scrape hide towards the end of yesterday.

5 Wigeon were a pleasant extra out on the scrape area from the Sand martin hide and the Lapwing hide has been busy with 3 Lapwing, 10 Teal, 8 Gadwall, 2 Shelduck, 11 Greylag geese and 2 Canadas.

3 Little egrets were roosting at the rear of the dry grassland from the Ramsar hide yesterday afternoon.

The Peregrine has been very vocal lately and Buzzards are wheeling and calling over the hanger.
