Great white!!

Whilst doing the daily count this morning a large egret caught my eye as it drifted over the reserve and landed towards the rear of the site next to the river. A Great white egret!! Then to follow this up the Glossy Ibis, which I hadn't personnally caught up with, appeared in the sky flying away from the reserve towards the river meadows to the east.

Four Oystercatchers were noisily staking claim to the scrape areas this morning.

Two pairs of Shoveler now feeding from the Lapwing hide on the wet grassland, maybe two pairs will stay to breed. Also from the Lapwing hide are two Lapwing sitting on their eggs with another pair nest scraping from the Ramsar hide.
