More signs of spring.

 

This week has seen 4 Long tailed tit nests being built around the reserve and a singing Chiffchaff, resident or migrant?

Firecrest continue to be seen especially amongst the hedgerow parallel to the reedbed long path.

Lapwing continue to display and several Snipe are still hanging around the wetter parts of the reserve.

At least 4 Mediterranean gulls calling high above the many hundreds of Black headed gulls today.

At least three Kingfishers still showing around the reserve as well as Water rail in various places.

Red admiral, Brimstone and Peacock butterflies have been seen on the sunnier days as well as Buff tailed bumblebees.
