Three tawny owlets were spotted today high up in a willow tree at the southern edge of the reedbed. This is the second year running that owlets have been seen in this area.

The second pair of oystercatchers now seem to be sitting on eggs and the common tern pair were mating today so there should be some eggs being laid shortly.

At least two Cuckoo's calling around the reserve at the moment.

An Osprey was an overfly on Friday and several Hobby were seen throughout the day as well.

Little grebes are sitting on eggs on wetlands discovery.

Around the reserve can be heard and seen:

Lesser Whitethroat, whitethroat, Swallow, House and Sand martin, Reed, sedge and Cettis warbler, Chiffchaff, Nightingale, Peregrine, Lapwing and chicks, linnet, goldfinch, Bullfinch, Greenfinch, nuthatch (feeding young), Great spotted woodpecker, Tufted duck, Pochard (some with ducklings), long tailed tit, Treecreeper (one with 4 chicks in a nest box), Water voles including juveniles, Grass snakes, toad tadpoles and Reed bunting.
