Wildlife sightings

The overcast morning has forced Sand martins (20), House martin (100) and a handful of Swallows to feed over the surface of the scrapes in front of the sand martin hide. Occasionally the sand martins would check out the holes of the hide. This could mark the beginnings of the main migration so get down here to see the spectacle.

Watch out for Green and Common sandpipers as well as they continue to move through the reserve.

Kingfishers continue to show well especially from the Scrape hide this morning.

When the sun shines there are a few Southern hawker dragonflies around the reedbed and Common darter in most places.
