Reserve Update Saturday 3rd June
Another lovely start to the day with fledgling birds down the Avenue and more of our wildflowers coming out in the Meadow and Avenues. There has also been a bumper number of Brown Hares visible first thing this morning with three in the fields down at the Avenue Tower (along with a lone Barnacle Goose), one at the Peter Scott Observatory and one around the car park. It was a good day for mammal spotting as well yesterday with the little weasel, shown in the photo below, ducking and diving around the stones and long grass at the Peter Scott Observatory. We now have three chicks in our Osprey nest and the parents have been busy feeding them this morning.
