Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Reserve Update Thursday 16th March - Garganey returns

A solitary drake Garganey returned to the Folly Pond yesterday afternoon and has been sighted once again this morning, this time using the borrow pit in Corner Field.  It is best viewed from the top floor of the Peter Scott Observatory or the small green hide first on the left down the Saltcot Loaning.  Elsewhere there are over 100 Golden Plover present down at Avenue Tower showing a large variation in plumages.  Whooper swan numbers have crept back up again with a new bird recorded yesterday that had previously been at Welney.

Todays high tide is at 14:33, 9.1m
