Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Reserve Update - Wednesday 16th May

The pitter patter of little feet continues with Moorhen chicks hatching out on our raised pond this weekend (so take care if pond dipping around there!)  There have also been mallard ducklings on Folly Pond....but still no Mute Swan or Oystercatcher chicks yet.  Insect interest is building with an emergence of Four-spot Chaser dragonflies down at Avenue Tower on Sunday and regular sightings of Large Red Damselflies basking on the footpaths.  The Farmhouse Garden is good for Bumblebees with White-tailed, Buff-tailed, Common Carder and Tree Bumblebees all seen.

Today's high tide is at 13:40, 9.6m.
