Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Reserve Update Wednesday 22nd February

Bit of a blustery start to this morning.  Good numbers of Redshank, Lapwing and Black-tailed Godwit feeding (and sleeping!) around the edges of the Folly Pond.  No sign of either of the drake Green-winged Teal so far.  If visiting, you may notice that our Teal Pond is now sporting a rather fetching raft to help provide more nesting opportunities for bird such as our Oystercatchers and Black-headed Gulls.  More will follow on some of the other pools over the next few weeks.

Todays high tide is at 09:17, 7.4m
