Update, Monday 5th March
A Balmy 5C today, with the snow virtually gone (the Blackshaw approach road requires care close to the centre but is easily driven), resulting in "The Return of the Barnacle" - a good few thousand around today after a relative dearth over the snowy period - I could only find 600 yesterday. The ponds have a mixture of ice and open water so there are plenty of duck around. Male Hen Harrier and Peregrine too, and there was a female Goshawk last week just before the snow set in... There's a Spring tide today at half-past two
