Water, water everywhere!

Well Caerlaverock Wetlands are really living up to their name! Recent heavy rains have inundated the site making it perfect for waders, geese, swans and ducks. Please bear in mind that if you are visiting then wellington boots are a requirement for getting down the Loaning and Avenue. Good numbers of Redshank, Lapwing and Golden Plover around the Folly Pond and surrounding fields. Our Mute Swan pair have commenced nesting on the Teal Pond and the merses are alive with the sound of displaying Lapwing and Skylark.
