Latest Sightings - 1st October - First Whoopers arrive and more Pink-feet!
After 3 Whooper Swans arrived on the reserve yesterday, we now have 8 adult Whoopers this morning. They are currently feeding in the Ridden Field near the Avenue Tower.
Clearly it was a good night for migration. As well as the extra Whoopers, we have 137 Pink-footed Geese in one field and 300+ on the merse. More and more are flying in from the north this morning!
Tonight is set to be another good night for migration with northerly winds and clear skies. We could see a 'fall' of birds in the morning with the possibility of swans and geese arriving!

Osprey Webcam
The Ospreys have now fledged and are not returning to the nest very often so we will soon be starting our blog as we follow the satellite tagged chicks on their first migration.
As October approaches we will hopefully be switching to our winter webcam showing the Whooper Pond, where some 300 Whooper Swans will spend the winter.
