Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Latest Sightings - 9th April - Sunshine!

A lovely sunny and warm morning on the reserve, with plenty of birds singing including Skylark, Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler.

The Ring-necked Duck is on the Teal Pond this morning, but it could make its way back to the Whooper Pond at some point.

The Little Grebes are nest building close to the Teal Pond Hide, so take care when entering the hide. The Mute Swans are sitting tight and could have their first egg now...

The Barnacle Geese are on the fields and merses this morning and with another big tide this afternoon, they could be pushed close to the hides.
