Latest Sightings - 9th September - Saltcot Loaning Open
The Saltcot Loaning is open again today after the hedge cutting. There is still some work to do to reinstate the path, heavy machinery and heavy rain don't mix very well, so please bear with us as we get both Avenues back how they should be. Walking boots or wellies are recommended!
The Hawthorns along the Saltcot Loaning are getting too tall, dying & falling over. Some have been cut to prolong their lives.
They will now bush out to provide better habitat for nesting birds in the summer.
Hawthorns need management to stop them becoming too leggy. They are better maintained as a hedge. This is why we have cut them.
The Folly Pond is busy again this morning with duck numbers increasing, 68 Lapwing and a single Green Sandpiper at the back of the pond.
Todays high tide is at 15:03, 9.4m
