Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Latest Sightings - Friday 27th July

Another hot and sunny start to the day but there is a chance of rain later in the day.

The Mute Swan family are spending most time on the Back Pond, still with their 6 cygnets which are growing fast! The Mute Swan family from the Flood Ground have disappeared, it's likely that they have moved onto the Lochar Water.

No sign of the Wood Sandpiper over the past couple of days, but there is every chance of more waders dropping in as they are heading south on migration.

A flock of over 30 Curlew are regularly using the Folly Pond at the moment.

Today's high tide is at 13:08am, 8.5m.
