Plenty of Redwing
Please be aware, the B725 is closed at Brow Well bridge. If you are visiting from the Carlisle/Annan direction you have to come via Dumfries. The bridge has suffered severe damage due to recent flooding and may be closed for a significant amount of time.
It has been lovely to see Redwing numbers increasing over the last week or so. The Hawthorn tree just outside the West side of the Avenue Tower and either side of the main path between the Farmhouse and Peter Scott Observatory have been particularly good for Redwing sightings.
There are, of course, still thousands of Barnacle Geese which can be spotted all over our site! Keep an eye out for leucistic birds in among the rest of the birds.
Commentated swan feeds take place daily at 11am and 2pm. More Whooper swans have been arriving daily on the Whooper pond. Twelve were seen first thing this morning including a pair with two cygnets!
