Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Reserve Update Friday 30th December - American Wigeon is back (again)

Yes, the American Wigeon has once again re-appeared...mixed in with the Eurasian Wigeon flock feeding on the Lochar field as seen from Avenue Tower.  They are joined by some of the Barnacle Geese, large numbers of Teal, Pintail, Golden Plover, Lapwing, Shoveler, oh and a male Hen Harrier!

The Whooper Pond has been quiet first thing both this morning and yesterday morning.  Possibly an indication that the otter has continued to lurk around.

Todays high tide is at 11:43, 8.8m
