Reserve Update Thursday 25th October - named Whoopers in with cygnets

Exciting morning with some of our named Whooper Swans returning with cygnets.  The weather is still mild so new birds arrive daily and some Whoopers continue to feed off the reserve.  Will see what happens this weekend with the cold snap and northerly winds forecast.  Lovely views of a male and female Bullfinch down the Avenue next to the entrance to the Teal Pond hide.  Small bird activity is good along this section with Treecreeper also seen.  Keep your eyes peeled for the Goldcrests as it is this time of year that they too start dropping in.  Good views of both Greylag and a small number of Barnacle geese from Teal Pond hide.
