Reserve Update Tuesday 18th October
Neither the yellow-browed Warbler nor the Great Egret have been seen (or heard) this morning.
The recent high tides have seen the Merse compartments flooded which is drawing the wildfowl. Another high tide is forecast for this afternoon which will make for some interesting bird watching down at Saltcot Observatory. The Peregrine Falcon is already poised, sighted this morning on a fence post out on the Merse from Avenue Tower. Elsewhere the Mute Swan cygnets on the Whooper Pond have begun stretching their wings and taking training flights along the Pond, much to the alarm of the other species there.
Today's high tide 14:26, 10.0m
