Reserve Update Wednesday 13th August
Lovely start to the morning after the rains overnight (if visiting, do consider bringing your wellington boots). The fist Pink-footed Geese have been seen flying across the reserve yesterday morning. A group of 25 passed high overhead the Peter Scott Observatory, heading West. Wader interest remains with 12 Black-tailed Godwit out on Folly Pond this morning and reports of small numbers of Ruff mixed in with the flock of Golden Plover out on the Merse yesterday afternoon. There was a sighting of a very active Weasel outside the Peter Scott Observatory yesterday afternoon. Large flocks of Goldfinch can be seen around the Paddock area, no doubt brought in by recent re-seeding.
