Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Reserve Update Wednesday 15th February

Misty start to the morning, but with the promise of sun breaking through, has made it hard to tell for sure what is about.  Male Merlin seen first thing from the Saltcot Merse Observatory as well as the singing Skylarks out on the Merse heralding the arrival of Spring!  There were amazing views of a female Peregrine hunting and catching prey from the Avenue Tower yesterday afternoon.  Both the corner field and Newfield Hide have been exceptionally good the past few days for views of various waders including Curlew, Lapwing, Black-tailed Godwit and Golden Plover.

Todays high tide is at 15:03, 9.1m
