Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Reserve Update Wednesday 4th October

Whooper Swan numbers are starting to creep up a little, with four birds joining us for the 2pm feed yesterday.  This morning there are fifteen Whoopers around the reserve with best views from the Avenue Tower first thing.  Hopefully they may join us for our feeds on the Whooper Pond at 11am and 2pm.  Pink-footed Geese numbers continue to rise.  A small number were feeding in the fields adjacent to Avenue Tower this morn.  Larger skeins were taking off from the Merse and flying over.  Still no more Barnacle Geese yet though.........

Today's high tide is at 12.13, 8.9m
