Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Tues March 1st update

Much milder today, but breezy and showery. 26mm of rain overnight must mean that it's the start of (meteorological) spring today... The Tawny Owl remains on watch from its box overlooking the Whooper Pond where the lone male Greater Scaup is still hanging out with his Tufted cousins. 128 Whoopers at the early feed, with over 100 in locations just off the reserve. Not a great deal of change generally from yesterday. No sign just yet of the green-winged Teal, but no doubt out there skulking somewhere on the Folly Pond

Today's high tide is at 16:42,  7.6m
