Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Tuesday Jan 10th

Turning a bit blustery now. We've just located the American Wigeon in a flock of Eurasians, down near the Avenue Tower. This bird is proving to be a bit more of a challenge than the Green-winged Teal (on Folly Pond as per usual), given its propensity for using different areas of the reserve. Lots of the usual suspects on show of course, and the otter was back this morning resulting in some nervous birds at the morning feed

Todays high tide is at 10:12, 8.8m
