Accessibility during autumn and winter

During the colder months, the reserve can be wet and muddy so waterproof footwear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or using push wheelchairs may find traversing the Avenue and Saltcot Loaning unsuitable. Please call us on 01387 770200 for more info.

Update, Sunday Feb 7th

Very windy today, but not too wet so far. Birds pretty much as yesterday, with drake Greater Scaup on the Whooper Pond and 10 Pintail close in down on the Flood Ground. Folly Field is currently heaving with Curlews, Lapwings and Golden Plovers as the tide rises behind. No count done yet but there seem to be plenty of Barnacle Geese about. Will the Snow Goose from late last week show again? Edited to say that a white-phase Snow Goose has been reported among a large flock of Barnacles, just off the reserve, very near Bankend off the B725

Today's high tide is at 11:21, 8.9m
