Ikebana exhibition
Discover the ancient art of Japanese flower arranging at this ikebana exhibition by Mary Pearson.
The Sogetsu school of Ikebana was founded in Tokyo by Sofu Teshighara in 1927 and recognises ikebana as an environmentally-friendly creative art using plants, and more unconventional materials, in arrangements which focus on line, mass and colour. Mary Pearson has studied with the school for over 20 years. A Second Grade Sanyo Teacher she has taken part in group exhibitions in Ards Arts Centre and the Graffan Gallery at Castle Espie. In 2023 she had a solo exhibition in Ards Arts Centre and recently participated in workshops in Antwerp and Brussels.
This exhibition will feature ikebana inspired by the flora and landscape at Castle Espie.
See the exhibition for one weekend only in the Graffan Room.
