WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre Welcomes Chef Anna Brown to The Kingfisher Kitchen

The recently refurbished Kingfisher Kitchen at WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre is excited to welcome Chef Anna Brown to lead the team as Catering Manager.

Anna has a wealth of catering experience, including time as a resident chef on S4C’s Prynhawn Da and Wedi 3 programmes, and joins us from local heritage attraction Plas Llanelly House where she gained a great reputation locally for her delicious menus and welcoming presence.

Centre Manager Nigel Williams said, “I’m absolutely delighted that we have appointed a chef of Anna’s talent to oversee the running of our ever-popular Kingfisher Kitchen.  She will be a real asset to the team and I can’t wait to see what she develops for our visitors to enjoy.”

Speaking about her new role, Anna said, “The opportunity to work at WWT Llanelli was one too good to miss! My passion for nature, food and people can be realised in this fascinating environment, knowing that every penny spent in the restaurant helps support vital conservation work here in Llanelli and around the world.”

This winter the restaurant offers an early bird menu from 9.30am – 11.30am with freshly baked pastries and breakfast sandwiches including local pork sausages. Snacks and light bites including paninis, toasties and sandwiches, and freshly baked jacket potatoes with a signature house salad jar are available over lunchtime. A range of tempting cakes and treats are also available to enjoy throughout the afternoon.

Delicious cooked items including traditional welsh cawl, wood-fired pizza and the very tempting slow cooked hot beef baguette with proper chips, horseradish dip and a jug of local ale gravy are also available daily. Licenced with a range of different wines, cold local Tomos Watkins ales and cider, the Kingfisher Kitchen is a great place to warm up after a day exploring.

Anna celebrates National Pizza Month with BBC Radio Cymru's Tommo and her special Llanelli Wetlands twist on a Pizza Marinara, topped with cockles, laverbread and Marsh samphire.

The Kingfisher Kitchen cannot only be enjoyed by members and visitors who want to spend the day but can also be used by those just wanting to use the restaurant. An admission fee will be charged but will be refunded upon returning your receipt within an hour.
