Tick & Twitch 2025
The annual Tick & Twitch is back at Llanelli Wetland Centre and set to be better than ever, with free spotter checklists and big birding prizes to be won!
Get your healthy new year off to a flying start! Pick up your free checklist and pencil and head out into the wetlands to spot as many species of wild birds as possible in just one day.
It's great fun for beginners and experts alike and a good chance for people of all ages to discover a new hobby and appreciation of the natural world. It's also the perfect antidote to festive overindulgence and a unique way to spend quality time with people you love in the wonderful Llanelli wetlands.
All you have to do is tick birds off your list as you see them and make a note of any species you see that aren't on the checklist.
When you get back to the centre, make sure you fill out a prize draw entry form and pop it in the black box on the Info Desk for a chance to win a great pair of binoculars and some handy guidebooks.
For fairness, you can only enter the draw once. We'll draw one winner from the junior category (under 18s with parent/guardian consent), and one winner from the adult category (18 and up). Winners will be notified by email on 3 January and we'll announce them on our social media along with species totals for the event and any unusual sightings.
Don't worry; we're going to be checking all entries very carefully for any suspicious anomalies!
The adult category prize is a pair of 8 x 42 WWT Teal binoculars and two guidebooks, and the junior prize is a pair of WWT Cygnet binoculars and two guidebooks.

Terms & Conditions
The prize competition is hosted by The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT).
The competition runs from 9.00 am – 17.00 pm on 1 January 2025. The adult winner (1) and junior winner (1) will be chosen at random from submitted entries.
By entering the prize competition, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
Eligibility
1. The Competition is free to enter for all UK residents, including WWT employees and their families.
2. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of your parents or legal guardian to take part in the Competition.
3. WWT reserve the right to disqualify any person from the Competition and/or withdraw any Prize should an Entrant at any stage supply inaccurate personal details.
4. A maximum of 1 entry per Entrant is permitted between 9.00 am and 17.00 pm on 1 January 2025.
5. The Competition will run between 9.00 am and 17.00 pm on Monday 1 January 2025. Winners will be chosen at random on 2 January 2025 from entries received by WWT during this period.
How To Enter
1. Pick up an entry form from the Info Desk at WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre and input the information requested.
2. In order to be valid, all entries must include the following information:
- Full name and age of the entrant.
- Parent or guardian’s name and signature if entrant is under 18.
- Email address of entrant if over 18, or of parent/guardian if under 18.
3. Place the completed entry form in the secure marked competition box on the Info Desk at Llanelli Wetland Centre.
Judging and Prizes
1. The entries will be folded and separated into junior and adult categories and placed in two boxes.
2. An independent person will select one entry form from each box.
3. Prizes are distributed by the centre and will include:
- Junior winner – one pair of WWT Cygnet binoculars and two guidebooks.
- Adult winner – one pair of WWT Teal binoculars and two guidebooks.
4. The prize is non-negotiable. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to substitute the prize with other prizes of equal value or higher value. There is no cash alternative to the prize; it is not for re-sale and is non-refundable.
5. Winners will be notified by email from this email address only (jessica.thompson@wwt.org.uk) in the week following their entry. WWT will attempt to contact the winner twice by email. If the winner does not respond and the prize is not claimed within 14 days, WWT reserve the right to choose a new winner and the original winner will lose the right to claim the prize. Please allow 14 days for delivery of the prize or alternative collection arrangements may be made by agreement.
