British Steel Hide (and Grounds) Autumn passage seems to be beginning now, with quite a nice mixed flock of waders beginning to build up on the saline lagoons. On the 3rd there were 2 Spotted Redshanks, 35 Greenshank, 78 Black-tailed Godwits, 76 Redshank

Recent Sightings (18th-20th July)
Millennium Wetlands The juvenile Goshawk was seen again on the 18th near the new viewing screen. On Deep Water Lake counts include c.100 Black-Tailed Godwit, 2 Knot, 45 Mallard, 2 Cormorant, 1 Moorhen, 5 Little Grebe and 4 Coot and a Mediterranean Gull.

British Steel Hide A nice set of high tides during the past couple of mornings have pushed good numbers of birds up onto the saline lagoons. An adult Spotted Redshank was joined by 52 Greenshank, 620 Curlew, 9 Whimbrel, 7 Dunlin, 119 Redshank and c.40

Millennium Wetlands Ducklings galore at the moment! With broods of Pochard, Gadwall, Moorhen, Coot, Tufted Duck and Mallard all being seen on Deep Water Lake alongside the Black-Headed Gull chicks. A Mediterranean Gull was seen this week. Also Cormorants
